Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation is proud to announce
Our First Annual Ski-A-thon on March 28, 2010!
BBSEF is a
nonprofit youth snow sports organization. The club has groomed multiple Olympic
athletes in winter sports such as Erik Fisher, Dane Spencer, and Hailey Duke.
Our clubs is requesting your help to keep the competitive dreams alive for
future athletes of the Treasure Valley. Our current members need your help as
they too follow their athletic dreams!
What is a
Ski-A-Thon?
A Ski-A-Thon is a fun
fund raising activity for winter sports participants of our club. The Ski-A-
Thon follows the traditional Walk-A-Thon fundraising model. Skiers attempt to
reach a certain number of descents (verses number of miles walked) goal based on
skiing ability and age. Upon registration participates collect pledges and
record them on the attached Sponsor Sheet. Sponsors may also choose to give a
onetime gift. On the Ski-A-Thon day participates turn in their Sponsor Sign up
Sheet, and observers will verify the number of descents each skier achieves.
This event will be supervised by coaches who will track the number of descents
for each skier and control the environment for safety.
The
Ski-A-Thon will run from 9am - 12pm on the Deer Point
Chair March 28th. The skier you sponsor will run laps down the Deer Point Chair
Lift for monetary pledges per run.
The goal is to raise funds to support competitive snow sports in the Treasure
Valley.
The
Ski-A-Thon
will be conducted by the BBSEF
athletes and prizes will be awarded for the most pledges received in each age
class and an overall grand prize.
Pledges
will be taken on a per run donation or as a onetime lump sum donation. This
event will be followed by our spring picnic and will be a fun event for the
whole family to participate in! Other prizes will be awarded at the picnic for
participants in each age grouping.
