Snowboard Development Team
U10+ Age Class (8+ Years Old)
The Snowboard Development Team is for snowboarders that want an introduction to a structured group environment that is led by a qualified coach that specializes in teaching children how to improve their riding skills. While creating a rewarding experience working on fundamental riding skills, safety awareness, team camaraderie, and friendly competition, participants will improve their all-mountain snowboarding ability. This program exposes snowboarders to everything Bogus Basin has to offer. Participants will explore the entire mountain in a fun and safe learning environment; riding steeps, bumps, groomers, powder, crud, trees, race courses, rails/boxes, and jumps.
Snowboarders must be comfortable riding around Bogus Basin linking S turns. Specifically, participants must be comfortable riding down the entire Deer Point area and Lower Nugget, Wild Cat, and Paradise runs on the Pine Creek Chair and Nighthawk, Triumph, and War Eagle on the Superior Chair.
Groups ride together from 9:30a-3:30p on Saturday and/or Sunday. Lunch is unsupervised from 12:00-1:00p. Participants in the one day program choose either Saturday or Sunday for the entire season.
Throughout the season athletes will participate in the Coaches Cup Series. This series is designed to expose the groups to the different disciplines of skiing in a friendly competition environment. Events in Giant Slalom, Big Mountain, and Slopestyle will be held on either Saturday or Sunday.
A Bogus Basin Season pass is required and must be purchased directly through Bogus Basin season pass office. Pass prices are not included in BBSEF Team Fees.
