Devo Plus Is for ages 8 and older who love to ski and looking for more than one day per week of training.  This team is where athletes continue to develop fundamental skiing skills with a focus on SL and GS. The Devo Plus Alpine team would have the same coach for both training days.  This team provides an increased opportunity for athletes to discover progression within the competitive aspect of the sport.  Devo Plus teams provide opportunities for athletes to be introduced to North Series training, coaching, and expectations.  Participation in this team allows families and athletes to explore the excitement of competing with other athletes within the Intermountain Division.

Team Goals

·         Build confidence to ski all types of terrain.

·         Introduce young skiers to a fundamental skiing progression applying both alpine and freeskiing technical skills.

·         Introduce young skiers to the possibilities of snow sports competition.

·         Create strong peer relationships/group dynamics.

·         Instill respect for people, places, and property

Competitions

Coaches Cup Series: BBSEF Home Team programs members (Mitey Mite, Devo Team, Freeski, and Snowboard), participate in the Coaches Cup series.  This series includes a one-day Giant Slalom or Slopestyle, a one-day Slalom or Slopestyle and our two-day, four-event Coaches Cup Finale.  The Coaches Cup Finale is four events over two days. The four events are Slalom, Giant Slalom, jumping, and either a slopestyle or skiercross event.  Awards will be given to 1st-5th, place in the Coaches Cup races with participant ribbons for all competitors.  We also have an end of season Coaches Cup Overall award based on points awarded based on results at each of the Coaches Cup competitions.

North Series Race: Devo plus athletes are encouraged to enter one North Series race during the season.  BBSEF typically hosts the “Cranston Cup” a 2-day SL event in February.  This is a great introduction to competition at the next level up from Home Teams. There would be coach support for this event for the Devo Plus athletes.

Michael B Young:  Devo plus athletes, both Freeride and Alpine members are encouraged to enter the Michael B Young IFSA big mountain Freeride competition.  This is a 2 day freeride comp hosted by BBSEF in late February.  There would be coach support for this event for the Devo Plus athletes.
