For the first time in 70 years, the Bogus Basin Ski Education had to make the extraordinarily difficult decision to cancel the annual Ski Swap. Our youth sports organization relies heavily on proceeds from the Ski Swap for our yearly operating budget. You can help close the gap with your participation in the Welcome Winter Virtual Gala and online auction.
We have a Paddle Up goal of $20,000 to assure the future of BBSEF. Help us reach it by sharing Friday evening's broadcast with family and friends and raising your paddle high.
Treasure Valley Youth Need Invigorating Outdoor Experiences
And The Smiles That Go With Them.
With Your Help, We Will Overcome the Challenges of 2020
and Continue Putting Smiles on Kids' Faces For Years To Come!
BBSEF – The Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation provides competitive ski, snowboard and mountain bike programs for Treasure Valley youth. We encourage each athlete to achieve academic and athletic goals; learn sportsmanship and teamwork; develop integrity, grit and have fun. We put smiles on kids’ faces while building healthy communities through competition.
Every year the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation (BBSEF) looks forward to hosting the annual Ski Swap. BBSEF volunteers enjoy helping outfit winter sports enthusiasts for the season ahead.
In addition to kicking off the ski season, this community event is a major fundraiser for the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation. BBSEF’s mission is to provide access to competitive mountain sports programs for the youth of the Treasure Valley.
1,700 volunteer hours go into the 4-day event. Most Ski Swap volunteers are current and past BBSEF families. Members of the Bogus Basin Ski Patrol and Bogus Basin Ski Club also pitch in to help. We could not bring the Ski Swap to you without the hundreds of hours our families and friends volunteer each year.
Sadly, for the first time in 70 years, volunteers will miss helping outfit individuals and families ahead of the 20/21 winter season. Physical distancing restrictions have shuttered operations at the EXPO Idaho. Out of consideration for our volunteers and customers, the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation has made the extraordinarily difficult decision to postpone the annual Ski Swap.
However, all is not lost. You'll want to mark November 6-8, on your calendars. The Boise Ski Retailers Association purchased equipment early last spring (before the COVID shutdown) specifically for the swap. These retailers (McU Sports, Greenwoods Ski Haus, Play it Again Sports and Idaho Mountain Touring) will be holding a ski sale and equipment exchange,
