Adopt A Highway Clean Up Day:

BBSEF is the proud sponsor of a section of Bogus Basin Road (mile 3-4) as part of the ACHD Adopt a Highway Program.  We have scheduled September 28th at 11 AM for our roadside clean up.  With 10-15 volunteers this project is fairly fast and efficient.  We will meet at Corrals Parking lot (just past mile 3 on Bogus Basin Road) and will start from there.  Trash bags, reflective vests will be provided.  Please bring a sturdy pair of work gloves.

If you can make it, please respond via this doodle poll: https://doodle.com/poll/kxd2wgbgqtahw7ig

BBSEF Brush Cutting Weekend:

Fall is coming, and it snowed in some mountain locations this week!  That means it's time to get our trails ready for the upcoming ski season.  The brush and weeds seem to grow at an outstanding rate at Bogus so it's time for us to cut!  BBSEF will host our annual brush cutting weekend on October 5th and October 6th from 9:30 to 3:00 PM.  We will focus on several trails in the Bitterroot Basin area, including B1, B2, B3, Sleepy Hollow, MM jump, and the Mitey Mite race hills.  This is an ambitious project, so we need your help.  Last year's heavy snow fall damaged quite a few trees in the Bitterroot area, so clean up is badly needed.  Snacks and water will be provided for all volunteers. The brush cutting is set up for both Saturday and Sunday so families can join either day or both if they want depending on schedules.

Details:

Date – Saturday and Sunday, October 5th and 6th.

Time and location - Meet at Jason Harper Training Center at 9:30 AM

Equipment:  Please dress appropriately for the weather and cutting brush.  Long pants, long sleeves, eye protection, and good hiking shoes are strongly recommended.  Hand saws, loppers, gas powered weed eaters, and chainsaws are the tools to bring.  If you bring a chainsaw, hearing protection, glasses, and chaps are required.  You will also go through a quick chainsaw safety talk.

Food – BBSEF will provide snacks and water.  Bring a hearty lunch!

Camping: If you feel like making a weekend out of it, a few people will be camping in the Pioneer parking lot.

I hope we can get a large number of volunteers this year! Please fill out this doodle poll if you can join us this year. https://doodle.com/poll/97ecdunzbyincqfg
